The Chivalric Orders
(The Emblem of Royal Arch Masonry)
As a fraternal organization, the Masonic Knights Templar honors the legacy of the Ancient Knights Templar and their principles of chivalry, charity, and brotherhood. Our organization’s roots can be traced back to the late 18th century when it was founded as a branch of Freemasonry. Since then, we have grown to become one of the largest fraternal organizations in the world, committed to serving our communities and promoting personal growth and spiritual development among our members.
Throughout our history, we have been inspired by the bravery and dedication of the Ancient Knights Templar, who were recognized for their commitment to protecting pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land during the Crusades. We are proud to carry on their traditions and principles, and to promote the virtues of honor and virtue in all aspects of our lives.
Our charitable efforts are an integral part of our mission, and we are dedicated to giving back to those in need, supporting local charities and organizations, and sponsoring educational programs. Through our commitment to brotherhood, charity, and chivalry, we strive to make a positive impact on countless individuals and communities worldwide.
The mission of the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar is — To provide every Christian Freemason the opportunity to extend his Masonic journey through the chivalric experience.
The Knights Templar is a Christian-oriented fraternal organization that was founded in the 11th century. Originally, the Knights Templar were laymen who protected and defended Christians travelling to Jerusalem. These men took vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, and were renowned for their fierceness and courage in battle.
Today, the Knights Templar display their courage and goodwill in other ways. They organize fund-raising activities such as breakfasts, dinners, dances, and flea markets. They support Masonic-related youth groups and they raise millions of dollars for medical research and educational assistance.
Currently, Templar membership consists of people from all walks of life, including doctors, lawyers, clergy, businessmen and entertainment personalities, all of whom profess a belief in the Christian Religion.
